Terms of Use
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Harrison Robert Towler, trading as Mentru (“Mentru”, “we” or “us”). By creating an account or using the Mentru app and services, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Mentru.
2. Who may use Mentru
You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to agree to these terms. If the law where you live requires permission from a parent or guardian, you must have that permission. Mentru is not designed for children under 13.
3. The service
Mentru provides AI-assisted conversations, planning, progress tracking, reminders and optional accountability calls. Features may change as the service develops. You are responsible for your device, internet connection, notification settings and the accuracy of information you provide.
4. AI limitations
Mentru generates responses using artificial intelligence. Responses may be incomplete, inaccurate or unsuitable for your circumstances. Check important information and use your own judgement. Mentru is not a doctor, therapist, lawyer, financial adviser or emergency service, and its output is not professional advice. If you may be in danger or need urgent help, contact the appropriate emergency or qualified service.
5. Your account and content
Keep control of the Apple or Google account used to sign in. You retain ownership of the goals, plans, messages and other content you provide. You give Mentru permission to process that content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
Do not misuse Mentru, attempt to gain unauthorised access, disrupt the service, upload unlawful or infringing content, use the service to harm or deceive others, or use generated output in a way that violates law or another person’s rights. We may restrict or end access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the service or comply with law.
7. Notifications, calls and Screen Time
Check-ins, incoming accountability calls and the optional Screen Time reflection depend on permissions you control in iOS. Delivery timing is not guaranteed. You may disable these features in Mentru or iOS Settings. Screen Time choices and threshold processing remain on your iPhone as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Mentru available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. We may maintain, change, suspend or discontinue features. Where practical, material changes to these terms will be explained in the app or on mentru.app before they take effect.
9. Ending your account
You may stop using Mentru at any time. You can delete individual plans or permanently delete your account and associated Mentru data from Profile. Some limited records may be retained only where required for security, fraud prevention or law.
10. Liability and consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits rights you have under applicable consumer law. Subject to that, Mentru is provided as available and we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, loss caused by inaccurate AI output, or failure caused by third-party networks and services. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Mentru in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim; if you paid nothing, the limit is £100.
11. App Store licence
The Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the licence for the iOS app. These Terms govern the Mentru service and supplement that licence. Apple is not responsible for Mentru or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the applicable app licence.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without taking away any mandatory rights or courts available to you where you live. If a dispute arises, contact us first so we can try to resolve it.
